KDDI makes a difference
KDDI's Ethernet service, rated the best in the Japanese
market for the last five years in a row, is now available
internationally. Simply connect your sites into the "KDDI
Global Powered Ethernet" for a secure and cost-effective
international Ethernet network.

This is a true network-structure Ethernet service using world-first
external Layer 2 switches (redundancy). Quadruple backup
configuration based on link aggregation that uses undersea
cables with ring protection in completely different routes.

FEATURES
Multi-protocol compatibility that allows freedom of design and usage of protocols other than IP.
Customer VLAN support enabled by the introduction of 802.1q. Supports overlapping LAN addresses.
- A wide bandwidth from 1 to 100 Mbps is offered at a lower price.
"Redundancy/load distribution" can be set for free dynamic routing.
Inexpensive equipment can be used with Ethernet interface.
- A simple pricing system eliminates worries regarding connections with domestic networks
Because this service uses a Layer 2 switch-type network, selection of bandwidth is flexible, ranging from low speed items of 1-9 Mbps (in 1 Mbps increments) to broadband items of 10-100 Mbps. Also, its network configuration allows low-cost communication development between locations as compared to point-to-point dedicated lines.
Price is calculated based on (i) international line usage charge, (ii) overseas local line usage charge, and (iii) overseas equipment usage charge, each predetermined by the communication speed. Gateway charges etc. related to domestic connections are not incurred.
An exclusive bandwidth of access lines has been secured. There are no connection bottlenecks between domestic and other overseas networks.

- Service Level Agreement (SLA)
A service quaiity guarantee standard [1] has been established so our customers can use KDDI communication services with peace of mind. [1] In the event the service quality does not meet this standard, prices may be adjusted in accordance with KDDI rules.
Monthly mean time to repair (MTTR)
Monthly availability (availability factor)
Monthly average in-network delay (network delay)
A separate subscription (free) is required for customers applying for SLA international communications.
Please ask for details.
- Quality of Service (QoS)
A QoS (priority control) service is offered as an option allowing customers to control the transfer of data. When data is integrated with images or sound, data with real-time requirements can be transferred preferentially. Based on the priority levels that have been preset by the customer's equipment, priority control can be carried out when data is transmitted from the network to the customer's location (downstream).
- Traffic report service
By using the traffic report service, traffic trends of each access location can be viewed. Access to this service can be made via the Internet, and special software is not required. This service can be used to check your usage status and is helpful when considering the expansion of your network.
